About

Kevin Medina is a Los Angeles based queer Latino first generation professional who has worked at the nexus of education and social change since 2010. In my role as the Director of the Office of Student Affairs & Alumni Relations at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, I manage the School’s career services, student support & wellness efforts, employer & alumni relations, fellowship administration & organization partnerships, and civic engagement programs. In my spare time, I perform with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, am on the Advisory Committee for ONE Archives Foundation, provide data analysis consulting for LA County on hate crimes and serve as an Ad-Hoc Reviewer for the Journal of Interpersonal Violence. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an Education minor from UC Irvine and Masters Degrees in Public Policy and Social Welfare from UCLA.


I draw on my educational, professional, and lived experiences to provide my clients with culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-focused coaching and consulting services.

I have conducted hate crime data analysis for the LA County Human Relations Commission since 2015. I also have extensive training in identifying and combatting implicit bias and intergroup dialogue from University of California. I have presented on a variety of bias topics including to college students, law enforcement, and nonprofit providers.
